Aleksandra Kaplon-Schilis, PhD, is an educator and researcher dedicated to making mathematics, statistics, and data science more equitable, engaging, and accessible. As Community Manager at CourseKata, she supports teachers and college instructors across the country through curriculum implementation, community building, and professional development. She brings to the role a deep commitment to strong relationships with educators and a passion for expanding access to statistics and data science for all students.
Before joining CourseKata, Aleks earned her Ph.D. in Urban Education from the Graduate Center at CUNY, where her research focused on integrating technology into math instruction and supporting teacher development. She spent over a decade teaching math, physics, statistics, and data science in diverse settings, from Title I public schools in New York City to an independent school in North Carolina. She has also taught graduate and undergraduate courses in mathematics and teacher preparation programs at the City University of New York, supervised pre-service teachers, and contributed to national and international conferences.
