After the AP Challenge: Now What?

We’re glad you and your students took part in the After the AP Data Science Challenge. It’s exciting to see students doing real data analysis with authentic questions—especially at a moment when data science is becoming essential for so many fields.

At CourseKata - where we hosted the Jupyter notebooks for the After the AP Challenge - our mission is to make these kinds of learning experiences available to more students, in more schools. We’re a nonprofit organization built around the belief that every student can engage deeply with data, modeling, and statistical reasoning—regardless of their prior math background.

If the Challenge sparked your interest, we’d love to stay connected and support what you’re doing.

What CourseKata Can Offer Teachers

1. Supplementary Activities For Your Classes

Many teachers start by using CourseKata Jupyter notebooks and interactive modules as supplements for their regular math and statistics classes.

We offer shorter modules and classroom-ready projects that can fit into:

  • AP Statistics
  • Intro data science electives
  • Algebra 1 or Algebra 2 courses
  • Cross-disciplinary STEM courses

For example, we have data-rich units that bring authentic modeling into regular math classes.

2. Interactive Textbooks for Statistics and Data Science Courses

CourseKata provides a complete set of modern, highly interactive online textbooks designed for:

  • Year-long high school statistics and data science courses
  • Introductory college-level statistics courses
  • Programs looking for a modeling-based alternative to traditional approaches

Our curriculum emphasizes sense-making, modeling, and real data, and we’ve found it works well for students with a wide range of preparation.

A Community and a Conversation

The After the AP Challenge is just one example of what’s possible when teachers and students have access to meaningful data investigations. We’re eager to learn what you need—and how CourseKata might support your goals.

Whether you’re curious about bringing data science into your school, trying out a few units, or exploring a full course adoption, we’d love to talk.
